DFL on Special Election SD 26, MN Governor’s Race, Caucus

Earlier this morning, Brain Melendez issued this DFL statement on Special Election Minnesota Senate District 26:
“In a district with so many Republican voters, Jason Engbrecht certainly had the deck stacked against him. Steele County hasn’t elected a Democratic representative practically in the history of partisan elections, so it was an uphill climb from the start. [...]

Even Ole Savior Has More Name Recognition

Here’s DFL party chair Brian Melendez, quoted by MPR’s Tom Scheck in his Norm Coleman Won’t Run post:
“What it means is that there’s only a weak Republican field left,” said Melendez. “The DFL field has many candidates in it with very high name recognition. The Republican field is almost complete unknowns.”
